Dr James Ruckley

Chiropractor

As a lifelong sports enthusiast, my journey into chiropractic began in 2013, three years after a shoulder injury derailed a cricket tour in South Africa. When other treatments fell short, it was a chiropractor who got me back to full strength within weeks—and from that moment, I knew this was my path. Since then, life has been a whirlwind. I spent time living on a private island, commuting to university by boat and bike, and spent weekends traveling the world to compete in Obstacle Course Racing. As my studies intensified, I paused competitive racing and turned to sports television, covering events globally. But the thrill of competition never left, leading me to tackle ultra-marathons, death races, and even complete an Iron-distance triathlon on just nine days’ notice—a spur-of-the-moment challenge I wouldn’t necessarily recommend! In 2020, I graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic and began practicing in Essex before relocating to Kent for a better work-life balance and, conveniently, to be closer to friends and a nearby climbing center. After a three-year hiatus from formal studies and competition, I’m now back at university, working toward a second Master’s degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound and Injection Therapies. I’ve also returned to running, now training with my sights set on Hyrox events.
