How does Chiropractic work?

We are concerned with the spine and it’s health and mobility. We look for areas of dysfunction and use a variety of technqiues to help improve the mobility at those specific levels. Restoring mobilty allows for those joints to move correctly again and for the body to naturally recover from the injury.

The nervous system is running the show, it is receiving and sending out information 24/7. The spine and cranium protect your nervous system. If an area isn’t of your skeleton isn’t moving as it should it weakens the connection between brain and body. A chiropractic adjustment helps restore the motion in the stuck joint, relieving any pressure and facilitating the natural healing and recovery process that the body goes through.

What is the clicking noise?

The clicking noise isn’t anything cracking or breaking it is just gas being released from the joints. There is fluid around your joints and gas pressure can build up when there is dysfunction in an area. When joint separation occurs there is a decrease in pressure and therefore the gas is released. It is just like any other gas being released from the body – quite insignificant.

How long will treatment last?

The initial consultation is always longer than the follow up sessions. The time you spend with your chiropractor will depend on what needs to be done. Once you chiropractor know what’s going on with your body they will discuss with you the appropriate care, the time it will take and how often they will need to see you.
